Gary is committed to defending our rights to develop and use our land. In Congress, Gary will fight to end federal mismanagement of  land controlled by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Forest Service, and other federal agencies in our district. Gary will also work to transfer control of this land back to the states and to private individuals. As a rancher, Gary understands how the federal government's mismanagement of land in the 1st District has hurt our economy and caused the loss of jobs. As our next Congressman, Gary Kiehne is committed to reforming federal land policy so that we have more say and control over the land in our district.

As a conservative who has seen the problems caused by the out-of-control growth of the federal government in our district and across the country first hand, Gary is committed to rolling back the size of the federal government in Congress. As a passionate advocate for limited government, Gary will stand up to the politicians in Washington who think big government is a good thing and who want to continue to grow the size of government.

We don’t need politicians telling us that the federal government spends too much and borrows too much. We need someone who will do something about it. As a business owner who has had to set budgets and stick to them, Gary understands what most politicians don’t – when you spend more than you take in, you aren't going to be successful very long. Yet that’s what the federal government does every year. In Congress, Gary will fight to reduce government spending and stop the irresponsible borrowing that has left our country $17 trillion in debt. Gary believes that we can balance our federal budget if we are committed to making responsible choices with your tax dollars and ending unnecessary functions of the federal government. In addition, Gary understands that you know better than the federal government how to spend your money. That’s why he is committed to not only opposing liberal attempts to raise your taxes, but also looking for opportunities to reduce the tax burden on Arizona families and businesses.

Obamacare is one of the greatest threats to our country's future and Gary will do everything he can to end it. Obamacare harms our economy, infringes on our personal freedoms, and throws our healthcare system into chaos. As a Congressman, Gary will fight to repeal, defund, and replace Obamacare - unlike Ann Kirkpatrick who was one of the deciding votes on Obamacare in 2010.

Gary is a longtime member of the NRA and proud gun-owner who will fight to protect our 2nd Amendment rights from those who do not believe in the right to keep and bear arms. Gary does not believe that anti-gun politicians in New York and Washington who don't know the difference between a shotgun and an AR-15 should be telling the people of the 1st District what to do with their guns.

Big government brings big government bureaucracies - and one of the worst is the EPA. New policies and regulations that are being implemented and proposed by the EPA threaten to kill thousands of jobs in our district and across our state. From the workers at the Navajo Generating Station to miners in Gila County, the EPA and other government agencies are threatening thousands of jobs and businesses in our district with senseless and extreme policies. Gary will stand up to the EPA and other government agencies in Congress that threaten the economic vitality of the 1st District and of Arizona.

Gary is pro-life and is committed to protecting the sanctity of  human life in Congress. He will also fight to protect the conscience rights of our medical professionals from those who do not believe in the right to life.

Like most Arizonans, Gary understands that we must secure our southern border and stop the unchecked illegal immigration into this country. In Congress, Gary will support real border security that provides a real barrier to illegal immigration. Gary does not support the so-called “Gang of 8” bill that provides a special path to citizenship for those who chose to break our laws and come to our country illegally. Instead, Gary supports legal immigration for those who abide by our current immigration laws and temporary work-permits when there is a real and verifiable shortage of workers.
